Ovate Propagation Station Use Guide

Some common questions about how to use your Ovate Propagation Station.

Q: What can kind of plants can I propagate?
A: The world is your oyster! Many plant species can be propagated in water, for more details check out our blog post, "How to Propagate Plants".

Q: Is fertilizer necessary or can I just use water?
A: Tap water is fine, but distilled water is known to produce more vigorous growth in water-propagated cuttings. Change the water every 3-5 days, and add a water-soluble fertilizer each time to strengthen the plant and accelerate water propagation.

Q: How long does it take to grow roots?
A: In 1-2 weeks, you'll usually see new root growth, though some plants may take longer.

Q: Does the plant need direct sunlight?
A: Plants need light to grow, but different plants have different light needs.  If you're taking a cutting from an existing plant, make sure your new cutting is in similar lighting conditions to the original plant.

Q: How much water should I use?
A: Add enough water to submerge the plant's nodes, and be sure to remove any leaves that will be submerged.
